|Macau Grand Prix Museum
The museum houses race cars and motorcycles that have competed over decades, telling the brilliant story of drivers, teams, and legendary figures who made their mark on the waters of Macau since 1954. The countless moments from years of racing history are brought together in the 21st century to offer you an unparalleled, all-encompassing experience.
The Grand Prix Museum, under the Macao Government Tourism Office, officially reopened on June 1, 2021. The expanded museum is four stories high and has a total floor area of approximately 16,000 square meters, a six-fold increase from its previous size, providing visitors with knowledge, entertainment, leisure, and learning experiences related to the Grand Prix. This renovation project was awarded a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification for new buildings (in the building design and construction category).
To further enhance the museum's appeal and enrich the visitor experience, the Macao Government Tourism Office added eight wax figures of famous racers to the museum on March 27, 2023. Five of these wax figures were specially created for this collaboration by Madame Tussauds and are of John MacDonald, Ron Haslam, Michael Rutter, Rob Huff, and Edoardo Mortara, while the wax figures of Ayrton Senna, Lewis Hamilton, and Sebastian Vettel were recast.
