These trams traverse Hong Kong's vibrant commercial heart, passing through areas like Western District, Sheung Wan, Central, Wan Chai, Tai Koo, Shau Kei Wan, and along Victoria Harbour. This historic mode of transport, unique to Hong Kong Island, is actually a type of tram. It's famous for the "ding ding" sound made when the driver presses a foot pedal, hence its popular nickname, the "Ding Ding Tram."
